Your collective explores the connection between art, ecology, and social engagement: what is the origin of the name “If Trees Could Talk,” and how does nature become an active part of your practice?

Children of Batangas painting the mural by Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang INK), designed by Leo Kempis Ang at the 2nd If Trees Could Talk Biennale

From the Biennale to children’s workshops, your work spans various spaces. How would you describe this identity to someone experiencing it for the first time, and what kind of imagery inspires its essence?

“Sa Bawat Hindi Matatapos-tapos na Simula” (For every beginning that won’t end) by Archie Oclos

The project is deeply rooted in Ibaan, yet it looks toward a global horizon. What led you to choose the formats of the “postcard” and micro-narrative to give voice to such vast environmental issues?

Nanay Pawikan (Mother Sea Turtle) by Laurence Vallières, created for the first If Trees Could Talk Biennale in 2024

What are your main sources of inspiration? Are there specific books, philosophers, or other artists who have decisively influenced the structure of your creative world?

Il progetto affonda le sue radici profonde a Ibaan, ma guarda verso un orizzonte globale. Cosa ti ha spinto a scegliere i formati della “cartolina” e della micro-narrazione per dare voce a questioni ambientali di così ampia portata?
